‘Kareum’ is Jeju dialect for a small village.
‘Kareum’ is a Jeju word for a small village or neighborhood. Kareumstay means travel that dwells in the time of the village rather than the clock of a tourist site — tuning yourself to the pace of a single village day instead of rushing past the scenery.
Kareumstay is not ‘a handful of villages’ —
it is the name of a different way
to experience Jeju.
Kareumstay began with Jeju's first villages. But it does not stop there. Those first villages are not a boundary — they are the source.
